Considering that the plane is made of metals, in the first place, the selected paint should have good adhesion to the metals and protect them. According to this point, usually two types of colors are used for this work:
Epoxy and polyurethane paint that have high adhesion and stick well to the aircraft body. One of the advantages of epoxy paint is that it is not easily separated from the surface and does not become layered after a while. Also, epoxy has a high resistance to chemicals, it prevents the surface from rusting and it is not easily destroyed. In addition to these, epoxy has a good resistance to sunlight, although if the fading of the aircraft body is more important considering that it spends almost all its life in the open air and under the sun, than polyurethane, which is more resistant to radiation. U.V. is being used.
Enamel paint is one of the colors used to paint the aircraft body. Although this paint is more economical than epoxy paint, it is often not used alone for painting the fuselage because it creates a thick layer and becomes very hard after drying. Usually, enamel paint is used to paint logos and colored designs on the body, and other surfaces are painted with epoxy paint.
